Project Scope

The Division of Parks and Recreation within the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR ) intends to have a master plan prepared for the approximately 750 acre addition to Hanging Rock State Park, known as the Vade Mecum / Moore’s Spring Area property. obs will facilitate the community engagement and planning processes, document the process and produce the documents associated with the master plan, including a final report. The master plan will illustrate a concept for land management and provide recommendations for future improvements. Future improvements will compliment existing and planned facilities at Hanging Rock State Park proper. The master plan also will study potential physical connections to the main park. Recommendations will reflect needs and aspirations identified throughout the process and will be consistent and compliant with NCDNCR policies and programs.
